Luncheon Celebrates Launch of MRIVCC

On February 24, 2014, partners from Michigan State University and the Midland community gathered at the Midland Country Club for a luncheon to celebrate the launch of the Midland Research Institute for Value Chain Creation. The institute, which will conduct research on topics such as logistics, security, and value chain optimization, will open an office in the new East End District in late 2014.

Attendees at the luncheon included representatives from The Dow Chemical Company, Dow Corning, Corporation, The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow Foundation, and The Rollin M. Gerstacker Foundation, who have collectively given $15.5 million to support the center. Speakers included MSU President Lou Anna K. Simon, MRIVCC Interim Executive Director David Closs, Broad College Associate Dean Sue Haka, and Midland Mayor Maureen Donker.
