Every value chain is experiencing

the challenges of visibility and traceability.

We have industry-specific solutions.

The Axia Institute’s annual Value Chain Summit, ‘Traceability Across Industries’ is set for Oct. 21-22 in Midland, MI.  We’ll start by discussing the current challenges in supply chain visibility, such as a lack of real-time data and incomplete data from partners, and how global standards provide a foundation for solutions in healthcare, food and agriculture, and manufacturing. Frank Yiannas, a renowned food safety leader and executive, is our keynote speaker.

Our Summit will explore mandates in the U.S. and Europe, and how solutions that are compliant foster trust and transparency with consumers. All the talk of a product’s journey wouldn’t be possible without technology, so we’ll discuss emerging technologies of traceability and visibility like RFID, blockchain and the Internet of Things.

Axia will also unveil research developments achieved within the past year, including from Phase II of Axia’s Pharma End-to-End Pilot and an update on the Digital Labeling/e-Leaflet Consortium. Perhaps the best part of the Summit? Whether you’re a first-time attendee or it’s your fifth Summit, the in-person connections made in Midland help build collaborations that last well beyond the two days spent here.

Go Green Hackathon Oct. 19-20, 2024

Go Green!! Hackathon Oct. 19-20

New for 2024 is the Go Green!! Hackathon on Oct. 19-20 in Midland, hosted by the Axia Institute and GS1 US. The Hackathon is a 24-hour competition with secondary education (high school) and collegiate teams diving in to solve real-world supply chain problems. Sponsorships are available, as well as opportunities to mentor talented students throughout the competition.

Keynote Address: Frank Yiannas

Renowned food safety leader

When Axia started planning “Traceability Across Value Chains” in the spring, our keynote speaker was on the short list of potential speakers. We are thrilled he is able to join us. Frank Yiannas is a renowned food safety leader and executive, food system futurist, author, professor, past president of the International Association of Food Protection, and advocate for consumers.

Most recently, he served under two different administrations as the Deputy Commissioner for Food Policy and Response at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), a position he held from 2018 to 2023, after spending 30 years in leadership roles with two industry giants: Walmart and the Walt Disney Company. Throughout his career, Frank has been recognized for his role in strengthening food safety standards in new and

innovative ways, as well as building effective food safety management systems based on modern, science-based, and tech-enabled prevention principles.

Due to prior commitments, Frank will be sharing ways to create a safer, smarter, and more transparent food system virtually. There will be a live Q&A with Summit attendees.

A full recording of the keynote will not be made available. Attendance at this year’s summit will only be offered in person; virtual registration is not being offered.
