Axia Institute Offices Relocate to MSU St. Andrews

“I’m excited about our upcoming move to this historic building in Discovery Square. While the East End has been a great location for us, the opportunity to relocate to MSU St. Andrews will facilitate a more collaborative working environment for our team,” stated Axia Institute executive director, John Hatfield. “The Axia Lab, which launched in September 2021 is already housed at MSU St. Andrews and having our offices and lab in one location was an easy decision for us to make going forward,” continued Hatfield.
The MSU St. Andrews facility, is a chemistry research and STEAM education center that has been in operation since the building was repurposed for use by MSU after the Michigan Molecular Institute, or MMI ceased operations in 2015. “As an original land grant University, MSU’s mission is advancing outreach, engagement, and economic development activities that are innovative, research-driven, and lead to better quality of life for individuals and communities. Having the bulk of MSU’s Midland resources in one location will benefit the University and the Midland community at-large,” according to Charles Hasemann, Ph.D., MSU’s assistant vice president for innovation and economic development.
Axia’s move is planned for the beginning of December 2022 and will be completed by January 1, 2023.
